From 1997 Rob initially worked for large, national main contractors during training. Freelance from 1983 to 1990 then with a firm of consultants in the City where he developed his insolvency specialism.
 Since 1997, principal of Robert Pearce Associates with hands-on experience of many hundreds of insolvency cases for many of the top insolvency practices including PWC, BDO, Duff & Phelps, RSM Tenon, FRP, Mazars, Baker Tilly, Zolfo Cooper, Grant Thornton, Kingston Smith, Moore Stephens, Deloitte, Chantrey Vellacott, Hilco and others.

Rob is acutely aware of the problems in the construction industry, particularly with regard to recovery and the consequences of insolvency. His advanced level of expertise in key issues such as termination, rights to payment and countermeasures for non-payment, together with a number of “tricks-of-the-trade” have made him a leader in his field.

In addition to providing advice to insolvency practitioners, Rob has directly advised RBS, HSBC and Barclays Banks, plus a number of asset based lenders, and recently the Insolvency Service in all matters relating to insolvency in the construction industry, and in particular the recovery of debts.

Rob has a Master’s Degree in Construction Law and Arbitration and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Member of the Academy of Experts, Rob also has an LLM (Master of Laws) in Business Law.
